Save the Children International is recruiting for a confident and dynamic Web and Social Media Officer to support our online presence as well as taking responsibility for Save the Children International websites.
We are looking for someone with passion for social media who can creatively find new ways of communicating Save the Children’s story to internal and external audiences, focusing on our global EVERY ONE campaign as well as our other key thematic areas: emergencies, education and protection. The role also involves maintaining high editorial standards across both our internal and external websites as well as proactively contributing to the development of new content areas.
This position sits within the Communications team which is tasked with promoting the work of Save the Children both internally and externally and in facilitating communications collaboration across our thematic areas as well as between our colleagues across Save the Children International.

Save the Children is looking for a proactive and experienced Media Officer to support our global media work coordinate and facilitate messaging around our EVERY ONE campaign and Save the Children’s key thematic areas: emergencies, education and protection.
Save the Children is currently restructuring its communications unit and you will be joining us during a moment of exciting change. You will have the opportunity to influence this new structure. You will work with colleagues across Save the Children International to deliver powerful and wide-reaching media; working with colleagues motivating and supporting them to create big media moments, reacting fast to opportunities to get Save the Children’s messages and issues out there and coming up with creative and high impact ideas to keep our issues in the news once the media spotlight has turned away.
Underlying all your work will be to help us push for change for children around the world, identifying hard news and feature stories and successfully working with media colleagues across Save the Children International so that they can pitch to major media outlets, across print, broadcast and online, in their respective markets.

International Programming Unit is an ambitious change programme which will have far-reaching implications for the future of Save the Children. Success will create a strong cohesive organisation through which we will deliver our international programmes and advocacy for children. This, in turn, will enable us to achieve greater impact for children, raise our credibility with governments and donors, increase our efficiency, and give us a greater capacity to respond urgently to emergencies.
Change Management is essential for the creation of a viable International Programming Unit. Using a structured organisational change methodology, we will enable the creation of scalable, empowered Country Offices where we operate internationally. These Country Offices will be supported by Regional Offices and a Headquarters (based in London ). Key to success will be embedding our new culture, based on our vision, mission and values, to strengthen and develop our staff towards achieving our ambitious strategy for children.

Planning for this significant change is already underway and has given rise to an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Manager to manage the transition communications strategy which underpins the related change management and project management aspects of the building this new organisation.
How we handle our communications will be critical to the success of the overall transition. We are looking for extensive communications experience gained within a large and complex organisation. A self-motivated individual who is sensitive to the needs of a range of stakeholders, with a track record in successfully translating strategy into action. Change management communications experience would be a strong advantage.
